1945 people saved by the Colombian Air Force in the last 8 years

The Colombian Air Force has a clear concept of "saving lives", so its crews deliver all their knowledge in each mission, a perfect work between man and machine, for the only purpose of preserving existence.

This experience is shared today in development of Exercise "Angel of the Andes 2015" which is now in its academic phase, and then begin to missions of rescue and recovery personnel and care in natural disasters.

Skills, techniques and special operations aerial maneuvers such as air assault, rappel, handles platform, external load, lighting and integration with flares and psychological operations, among others, performed by Colombian crews, are exposed to the attendees of the 10 countries of America, who will announce the procedures normally used in their countries.

Within that share knowledge, doctrines and ways of doing things the Engineer Richard Vargas, Director of the National Unit for the Management of Disaster Risk, who informed as the work of the system in Colombia were invited, which makes part of the Air Force, and also highlighted the invaluable support given by our Air Institution, timely response situations that endanger the integrity of the Colombians, and that evacuation and rescue missions during the last eight years has flown 3,395 hours, saving the lives of 1945 people across the country.
