Colombian Air Force continues to make Firefighting missions in different parts of country

The Colombian Air Force has participated in the last week in firefighting missions with helicopters fitted with bambi bucket equipment in Carmen de Apicalá and Honda in Tolima and in Aipe, Huila.

The continued support of the Air Force to fire suppression operations in the country has allowed so far in 2015 reach their aircraft to the departments of Antioquia, Atlántico, Boyacá, Bolívar, Casanare, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, Guajira , Magdalena, Meta, Tolima, Valle del Cauca and Vichada.

For this type of operations that require concentration, experience and expertise of the crews have flown 327 hours this year, there have been 1371 downloads with bambi bucket equipment, spraying in defending diversity of fauna and flora Nation 566 976 gallons of water and retardant liquid.

Aircraft and crews of Air Force continue to be available throughout the national territory to carry out firefighting operations as required throughout the country and perform both reconnaissance missions, in order to prevent increased damage to forests and nature reserves of various regions of Colombia
