The Colombian Air Force to advise that once the investigation into the cause of the unfortunate accident of the aircraft CASA CN-235 FAC1261, finished happened in Codazzi, Cesar, on 31 July, which was conducted by a team of experts Air institution and a committee of Airbus Military investigators, it was concluded that the mentioned incident was caused by severe icing the planes of the aircraft.

This research was carried out in record time also involved researchers at General Electric, who are the manufacturers of the engines of this type of aircraft.

The joint research also concluded that the accident was not caused by modifications made to the aircraft collision in flight, by an external agent as tatuco or missile or engine failure or the aircraft structure.
