Palanquero Stage of International Practice "Angel of the Andes"

In the last hours, the Air Combat Command No.1, located in Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca, received on board C-130 Hercules aircraft from the Air Force 60 men belonging to the Special Forces of 11 countries participating in the exercise "Angel of the Andes", which began on August 17, 2015 at the Air Combat Command No.5 in Rionegro, Antioquia.

During the day the delegation received information on work procedures and classroom teaching, unifying concepts that will allow them to operate safely in the different scenarios of land, water and air to which they will face during the two weeks of specialized exercises.

In the area of practical training exercises with crane removal personnel were conducted, drop by rappelling, fast rope extraction wild places and different exercises that are part of these risky rescue operations. The place was arranged for this track parachuting instruction Military Training Center from Air Force "CIMIL".

"The main thing is to know that we do everything with the highest standards of quality and safety, ensuring the success of the mission"; said Lieutenant Colonel Luis Carlos Botero, Special Operations Commander.

Colombia is now a regional leader in this area, for this reason the Colombian Air Force doctrine and continue to share experiences with other countries, strengthening interoperability in the future will save lives, regardless of the difficult conditions they face.
