The transfer of aircraft from the Colombian Air Force begins the new museum

A helicopter Bell OH-13 Sioux was the first aircraft to be transported from the Military Transport Air Command, CATAM, the site of the future Centre of Historical Memory of the Colombian Air Force.

The people of Bogotá witnessed this transport from the Air Unit to the outskirts of the capital at kilometer 34 of the highway north, nowhere to be transported one by one the aircraft that will be part of this aviation park which will be accessible to aviation enthusiasts.

The new headquarters of the current Colombian Aerospace Museum located in CATAM, have a modern design and different areas for exhibitions, lectures, audiovisual and photographic reproduction material.

This delicate mission to disarm the first 11 aircraft, transport them to their new home and putting them back together is scheduled to be concluded on 10 November, the month in which the institution held its Ninety-Sixth Anniversary; the other 16 will be carried to the Center of Historical Memory of the Colombian Air Force in 2016.

The legacy of the domestic aviation, and especially that of the Colombian Air Force, will then have a new home in the neighborhood of Parque Jaime Duque, Colombians and foreigners to know how has been the evolution of the national Air Institution, as well as major advances and milestones in the aeronautical field in the country and the world.
